English Sweet Chestnut Sleepers

Hardwood sleepers can be used for many landscaping purposes. Examples for uses include; garden edging, paths, steps, furniture and raised flower beds, plus many more. 

High levels of tannin within Sweet Chestnut help prevent rot and decay within the wood. This makes Sweet Chestnut the perfect wood species for outdoor use. Furthermore it can be heavily relied on to withstand the test of time as it is extremely strong and durable.

Common with landscaping timber, as the wood dries and shrinkage occurs natural splits and shakes will appear. They help to give the timber a natural look without having an affect on the integrity of the product. 

Sweet Chestnut sleepers are renowned for lasting a lot longer than treated pine. Some say that Sweet Chestnut can last 20 years under the ground.
