Providing Timber and Wood Products to Treeopia

All Good in the Wood supplied the wooden components to make Treeopia come to life. From wooden batons, balcony posts and rails, to shingles and joists. We’re extremely proud to have been a part of such a beautiful, Eco-friendly, tree house project.

Conservation of an English Church Spire in Westbury
“The Westbury-on-Severn church in Gloucestershire was in need of help to repair its 13th Century spire, which was damaged by water. The spire dates from 1270 and is made entirely of wood. The National Churches Trust helped fund the urgent repairs to the 153ft structure.” – BBC News
All Good in The Wood created approximately 35,000 hand-clefted English Oak shingles for Splitlath building Conservation to re-shingle the historic church spire of St Mary, St Peter and St Paul, alongside timber and masonry repairs.
Extremely strong, as well as weather resistant, Oak makes the perfect wood for this type of project. Wood species like Oak have been used to make shingles for roofs for hundreds of years. Some historic Churches have been found with Shingles that have lasted over 150 years.
As with all our hand-clefted Oak shingles, we sourced the Oak for this project from sustainable woodland within the Forest of Dean. It was an honour to be part of such a large conservation project in Westbury.
